Hertz operates in multiple countries in the Asia Pacific Region (APAC), however it operates with different types of business areas such as: Franchise (In country Franchisees and Whole Country Franchise) and Referral Partner in some Countries which is separated from Hertz Corporation.
When renting with a Hertz Franchise or Referral Partner, please check their Privacy Policy for information about how they process your personal data. 1. What data does Hertz Franchisee or Referral Partner collect from their customers?
At Hertz we collect customer personal data such as:
a) Contact details and basic personal information:
- First and Last Name
- Contact Information
- Email Address
b) Technological information (when visiting our Websites and Apps):
- IP Address
- Browser Type
- Operating System
- Mobile Device Identifiers
- Geolocation Data

- Reservations, updates, purchases and other transactions on our websites

d) Sensitive data:
We may collect certain Personal Data that constitutes sensitive data in some countries, such as data about (i) health conditions (for instance, if you ask us to accommodate a disability, such as checking if trunk space can fit a wheelchair, or if there is an accident and we need to work with insurance and claims management companies relating to any injury you may incur) or (ii) membership of a trade union (or similar organization) if you use a CDP Number that only members of that union or organization can use. Depending upon applicable local law, we may be unable to process such sensitive data without your consent.
2. Why does Hertz collect and use personal data from their customers?
Below we have set out the various purposes for which we process your Personal Data.
a) COPERATIONS AND SERVICES: For Product, Services, and other related activities, including billing and collection following a rental, or to communicate with you regarding (i) any reservation you initiate or rental transaction; (ii) your membership/status in one of our membership programs; or (iii) changes to the terms or features of any of our membership programs to which you belong.
b) OUR MARKETING: to provide you with marketing communications, special offers and promotions through a variety of means, including email, in accordance with applicable laws. Unsubscribe option is available, but transactional emails will keep be sent.
c) THIRD PARTY MARKETING: share with a sponsor or other third party who may provide you with special offers or promotions that may be of interest to you ('Third Party Providers'), where permitted. List of Third parties’ personal data is shared with.
d) PURPOSES RELATED TO OTHER THIRD PARTIES
3. How does Hertz collect personal data from our customers?
Hertz does collect personal data from different sources:
a) From our renters (customers): when our customers rent a vehicle with us, we receive the personal data they provide to enter into the rental agreement with [Franchisee or RP legal name]
b) From our Contract customers (where applicable): we provide services to our customers (not Hertz customers), sometimes they share with us some data from the renters to provide car rental services or car insurance replacement services (where applicable).
c) From our partners: we have partnerships with some third parties, such as hotels, airlines, banks, ... sometimes they share with us some data to provide you with certain discounts or promotions by using our services.

4. With whom do we share and disclose customer personal data?
PARTY COMPANIES We may share your personal information with third parties in the following circumstances:
i. To provide you with Services: We share your Personal Data among us, our agents, licensees and other companies to provide you with Services, including to:
- To make your rental car reservation including payment processing.
- Process and/or confirm your transactions.
- Provide you with enhanced vehicle rental services, for example, in connection with Hertz membership programs.
- To provide you with customer support.
- To settle and collect amounts due in connection with your vehicle rental and memberships.
- For customer satisfaction and market research purposes so that we can improve our services.
ii. Disclosure to companies you use: We also share your information with companies you use in connection with car rental, including:
- Your debit, credit or debit card provider and other companies that process your charges.
- Intermediaries you use, such as travel agencies, in relation to your car rental.
- Any operator of a membership program that rewards you for renting a vehicle from us, such as frequent flyer programs.
- Any sponsoring organization that pays part or all your rental costs (see Section 2d above)
iii. Safe and Lawful Uses: We may share and disclose your personal information for legal reasons that we believe are necessary or appropriate, including to:
- Comply with applicable laws, including laws outside of your country of residence.
- Process, handle or otherwise respond to claims for damages, including for personal injury and property damage.
- To comply with legal procedures

Where transfer your Personal Data is necessary to provide rental services requested by you, the legal basis for the transfer is the contractual necessity of the transfer, and your Personal Data will be processed by the company providing the services you requested in accordance with applicable local law. Where we transfer the data to a company to process personal data following our instruction to enable us to provide our services, we will ensure that the required legal safeguards are in place for the transfer providing the recipient country the same level of protection than the exporting country ensuring the data is protected accordingly.

You have the right to request access to, review, and update your Personal Data covered by this Policy, and can request this by contacting us at the details set out in the “Contact Us” section below. While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request, we also reserve the right to impose certain restrictions and requirements on such access requests, if allowed or required by applicable laws. Access to personally identifiable customer data is restricted to those employees that [Franchisee or Referral Partner Legal name] If an employee misuses personally identifiable customer data is treated as a serious offense for which disciplinary action may be taken.
